Riders

With the potential to grow across three developmental programmes, the riders could be with us for several years

2SF.UK RIDERS

Our race development programme runs from 14 years upwards with progression in philosophy and expectation as riders mature and develop. Our principles, policies and beliefs are based upon ‘best practice’ and research in the fields of growth, maturation and sports development in young people. They will differ from other organisations – but this is what sets us apart.

Senior Squad

The senior squad are our ‘professionals’, our adult role models who will most likley have developed through our programmes. They will be committed to being the best racers they can be in the ‘senior’, ‘expert’ or ‘elite’ category, and the ones expected to give the most back to the programme. In return, they receive full race and trainig support and fortnightly 1:1 mentoring.
In time, we aim to provide a Banshee race bike, as much race kit/safety equipment as the project can muster and hope these young adults will be on a formal apprenticeship programme.

Junior Development Programme

Our ‘Junior Development Programme’ (or JuDe Pro) comprises riders stepping up to National level racing. You need to be riding off-road already, preferably with some DH, Enduro or XC race experience, and have a competitive background in any sport (preferably multiple sports) at local or club level. You also need to have either your 17th or 18th birthday in the next calendar year to qualify as a ‘junior’ under British Cycling regulations.
These riders all have the best attitudes toward their personal development: on and off the bike. In return, they will have opportunties to attend events, training days and races, receiving comparable support to our Senior Squad.

Ride and Rise Programme

To be considered for the Ride and Rise Programme you need to have your 13th, 14th, 15th or 16th birthday in the next calander year to qualify as a juvenile or youth racer. These riders get online 1:1 mentoring and training as well as invites to training days.
This programme focusses upon learning about competing and foundational movements as well as how to approach competition. Although it is designed to prepare you for MTB competition and JuPe Pro, when you could be racing with us, it is equally applicable to almost any competitive sport.
